Molykote 3694 Spray open gear lubricant is a very adhesive grease intended for use on gears and wire ropes. It is particularly effective under severe conditions where stresses are high both under cover and in the open. A particular feature of the lubricating film is the wide temperature range over which it is effective. It will remain plastic at low temperatures and will not melt or run off at high temperatures.

Even at high contact pressures. the film resists rupture so preventing metal to metal contact. thereby reducing noise and wear. If gears are already damaged. For example by pitting, the film strength of Molykote 3694 open gear lubricant will prevent further damage and when high pressures are involved permit some plastic metal flow while the gears are working and so smooth over the pitted areas.
