Chrome Lignosulfonate

Chrome Lignosulfonate – High‑Performance Deflocculant for Extreme HPHT Conditions in Germany

Filtron Envirotech (India) is a leading manufacturer, exporter and supplier of oil drilling chemicals, specialty chrome lignosulfonate. Our chrome lignosulfonate is a versatile deflocculant, temperature stabilizer, filtration control additive, and gel strength reducer for water‑based mud systems. It effectively controls rheological properties at elevated temperatures, making it ideal for deep, high‑temperature wells. Our chrome lignosulfonate is exported worldwide and trusted by drilling engineers for superior thermal stability and thinning efficiency.

Chrome lignosulfonate is an excellent deflocculant and fluid loss control agent for water‑based muds. Unlike non‑chrome alternatives, the chromium complex provides exceptional thermal stability (up to 200°C / 390°F) and maintains deflocculating properties even in the presence of contaminants such as cement, anhydrite, and high salinity. It is the preferred thinner for deep, high‑pressure, high‑temperature (HPHT) wells where conventional thinners would degrade. Filtron Envirotech (India) is one of the world’s leading suppliers of lignite‑ and lignosulfonate‑based thinners for oilfield applications. Additionally, we manufacture tannin‑based, polyacrylate‑based, and polymer‑based oilfield mud thinners and dispersants.

Chrome lignosulfonate is highly soluble and disperses rapidly in fresh water, sea water, and brines. It reduces yield point, gel strengths, and HTHP fluid loss while improving filter cake quality and wellbore stability. Due to its chromium content, it must be handled with appropriate environmental precautions; however, where permitted, it offers unmatched cost‑performance for extreme downhole conditions. Our production process ensures consistent purity and batch‑to‑batch reliability.

Advantages:

  • Highly effective deflocculant and rheology stabilizer – Maintains low viscosity and controlled gel strengths even at high temperatures.
  • Functions well at elevated temperatures and in the presence of contaminants – Withstands up to 200°C (390°F) and resists cement, salt, and anhydrite contamination.
  • Excellent thinning and filtration control properties – Lowers both rheology and HTHP fluid loss simultaneously.
  • Also functions as a good emulsifier – Helps stabilize oil‑in‑water emulsions in oil‑contaminated muds.
  • Highly soluble and disperses in all types of water – Dissolves quickly in fresh, sea, and brine systems without pre‑hydration.
