Polyglycol Defoamer is a specially formulated, non-silicone defoaming agent designed to rapidly eliminate foam in drilling fluids, cement slurries, and other industrial fluids. Foam in drilling fluids can cause significant operational problems, including reduced mud density, decreased hydraulic efficiency, poor pump performance, inaccurate flow measurements, and potential well control issues. Our Polyglycol Defoamer quickly collapses foam bubbles, releases entrained gases, and restores the drilling fluid to its optimal density and rheological properties.

How Polyglycol Defoamer Works: Polyglycol defoamers function by reducing the surface tension of the liquid film surrounding gas bubbles, causing the bubbles to coalesce and burst. The defoamer molecules penetrate the foam lamellae, destabilizing the bubble structure and releasing entrained gases. Unlike silicone-based defoamers, polyglycol defoamers are completely water-soluble and do not leave oily residues or cause fish eyes in the fluid system. They are also compatible with most drilling fluid additives and do not adversely affect mud properties.
